Yani Tseng
i know the significance of this day, with Tiger Woods finally winning again and making us forget Luke Donald is the top player in the world. But has anybody been watching the LPGA Tour? Yani Tseng is not only built like a horse, but plays like one every week. With the amount of travel these girls are doing on their Tour, I think she is single handedly putting women's golf back on the map. The LPGA Tour really needs...
Yani Tseng as much as it needs Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis, Beatriz Bacari, and Lexi Thompson. When it comes down to it, golf needs golf. Flashy personalities and big smiles are great, but man it's fun watching someone hit great shot after great shot. I remember going to the 2007 Canadian Open and watching my friend Brian McCann compete. He was paired with Jim Rutledge and Johnson Wagner. At the time, I never heard of Wagner. But boy did he ever impress me. Not to take anything away from Brian and Rutledge, but he hit every shot pure and was on average 40 yards past them off the tee. I said to the guys I was with on the way home "That Johnson Wagner is going to win out there." On April 6, 2008 he won the Shell Houston Open by 2 strokes. Wagner wasn't an exciting player or big personality, he just played golf. Sometimes that's what makes Tiger and Yani so fun for me to watch. They just play golf and do what they do best....win golf tournaments.
