I've always said, the worst thing in golf is a three putt. You can make a great recovery after hitting an arrant tee shot or a poor approach shot. But when you cover 400 or so yards in pure ball striking and then take three strokes over 30 feet, it can really play on your mind. The third miss is always the toughest to handle and a player can never make it up....
The report that is attached at the bottom of this post is special. It's been put together by Geoff Mangum who is a putting theorist and is highly respected in his knowledge of brain science. The drills that he talks about are extremely powerful and can drastically change the way you approach your putting practice. In specific he talks about uphill and downhill putts with tiers. I struggled with this for years, and the theory he describes is simple and very much quick to calculate while reading a long putt.
I encourage you to download the FREE PDF version of "Help for 3-Putts". In lieu of this free report all I ask is that you click like and you will then become a fan of my Facebook Page. I feel I come up with some good content, and just want more people to see what I have to say.
i hope you enjoy the report and that the three putts become less for you or your students. Let me know what you think and if you feel the need for more on this subject you can purchase Geoff Mangum's Optimal Putting E-Book. A 290 page in depth e-book about the science of putting.
