At 11pm on Sunday, February 28th, my wife and I welcomed our first child, a boy, into this world. Mason James Kenesky was born healthy and it is with great joy and pride that we make this announcement. ![]() Mason James I don't know if there is one moment greater than the one I experienced a few short days ago. I have accomplished some nice awards and moments through golf, but nothing compares to seeing the birth of your first child. They say golf teaches us not just about how to play a game, but about life. To become a great golfer we need self awareness, being in the now, and a determined mind. After this weekend, I have become closer to each one. The thousands of thoughts leading up to the birth, made me realize that the only moment that matters is right now. With that in mind, I encountered the most inner joy and happiness I have ever felt. I am not a spiritual person by any means, but I now have an idea of what they are saying. As golfers, we need to embrace every moment on the golf course, and find joy in every shot, good or bad. Raising a child will certainly have it's ups and downs, but I am going to embrace every moment and find the joy. We only have one moment, and that's right now. So the next time you miss a 3 footer to win the hole... just stop, look, and listen and you will see the moment for what it is. Please drop a comment if you have encountered these feelings.
