Let's All Learn From Steve Stricker 02/10/2010
Well what can I say, Steve Stricker is a man we should all watch and learn from. I not only admire Mr. Stricker on the golf course, but he is truly a nice man and hasn't changed. I say this because, as a 13 year old junior attending the 1993 Ontario Open at Bridgewater Golf Club in Fort Erie ON (Canadian Tour Event)... He was the one man that stuck out. Since that day I have been a Steve Stricker fan. I followed his group for a portion of the day. He was playing with Eric Woods and Ray Stewart. My initial reason to follow the group was Ray Stewart, a great Canadian player at the time. Steve Stricker was the superior player of the group. After the round, he took the time to come over and say hi, sign an autograph, and the reason this is different is because he remembered me following and applauding his efforts. He remembered me, and for that I have never forgot that day or Steve Stricker. Mr. Stricker will win a major soon and I hope he does. If I had one bit of advice to give to young players... It would be to watch Steve Stricker, see how he manages his game. He strategizes and plans every shot, he hits lots of fairways, lots of greens in regulation, and may have the best short game on tour. We don't need to over power a golf course, just manage it. Steve Sticker has made a living doing it the right way. CommentsBruce 02/10/2010 6:06pm
