Trafalgar G&CC #9
Milton ON - The 2011 Golden Horseshoe Area Golf Tour season is in the books.  The seventh and final event on the schedule was played this past Monday October 3rd at Trafalgar G&CC in Milton ON.  The weather was challenging with misty, breezy, and cool conditions persisting throughout the day.  6 players were mathematically in the hunt to capture the year long Order of Merit title and take home the John H. Davis Cup.  Alf Callowhill (Glen Abbey Academy) was surprisingly, yet not surprisingly the big winner at Trafalgar.  In the mix for the John H. Davis Cup were two former Canadian Tour players, Ed Maunder (Deerfield GC) and Jim Zwolak (Braeben Academy). 2010 Ontario PGA Champion and former Great Lakes Tour Champion Ron Kenesky (Hidden Lake GC).  2009 Ontario PGA Spring Open Champion and defending John H. Davis Cup Champion Reggie Millage (Glen Abbey Academy).  So needless to say, Alf Callowhill was a strong underdog but a quiet contender....

The Inaugural Pro/Junior Golf Classic benefiting the Hamilton/Halton Junior Golf Tour is set to be contested on Thursday August 18th, 2011 at Southbrook Golf & Country Club in Binbrook, ON.  The Hamilton/Halton area junior golf tour has been running since 1984 and has seen many players graduate to great achievements in golf.  The Tour's strongest years were in the 1990's where the top junior golfer's in the region would mark each event on the schedule and try to become the Champion Junior Golfer in the Hamilton/Halton region of Ontario.

The purpose of this event is to join junior golfers with golf professionals to show the younger players how great a game and business golf can be.  Junior golf at the competitive level has been on a decline for the last 10 years, and this event will supply the juniors in the region another tournament to add to their calender and give them a chance to compete alongside a professional...
